Default Delayed Shifting into 3rd

My A4 is stock except for a tranny cooler, Trans-Go Shift kit, and SSF 3500 stall. Lately it has been delaying the shift from 2-3. Anyone else had this problem? It only happens under wide open throttle.

2001/2002 PCMs don't like 3500+ converters. You must have trouble codes for the shift-b solenoid disabled or else it will cause numerous problems with shifting. It doesn't happen right away, always take a while to show up.

Thanks for the input. The computer was tuned by TSP for the larger stall. I got one full season out of it with no problems. I guess it is time for a rebuild.

It has never hit the rev limiter. It just delays for about half a second.

Ok why hasn't FLT or Yank told me about this?? I've got about 150 miles on my new setup and I want it to last...

Is that really a known fact?

Tuning will cure that.

I talked to FLT today and they said not to worry about it...maybe its only an issue with the stock tranny?

Mine would also do that when I had Hypertech tuning installed. When I got the predator it went away. It sounds like a tuning issue as someone else has pointed out. Under part throttle mine would almost seem to slip for a second then it would shift to third so it sounds like the same problem. I had no idea what to do back then so I put the tuning back to stock even when I had 3:73 gears.

When I had the hypertech I tried everything. I sent it back for several new updates (This was in 2000) and it never fixed the problem. I don't know. Maybe they have a fix now but if you don't send it back sell it. Get ls1edit, custom tunning or the predator. One of the best things I've done was getting rid of torque management and I don't think you can do that with the HPP. It was a whole new beast after it was gone.

Don't know my man. If you are hitting the rev limiter its something different than what happend to me. You may want to mess with the shift points and or the rev limit. Or get someone to tune it for you.

born2lose did you use your predator to take off torque management. If so how'd ya do it. I've got a predator and would like to take torque management out if I could.
