Default no power to starter or fuel pump

New motor is in, and after i installed the fuel pump i connected the battery to test the fuel pump and it worked fine.

when i installed the starter and the 2 wires to the fresh charged battery and the wire that gets grounded into the block, i went to start the car and heard a click/clunk sound and now the fuel pump doesnt turn on.

any ideas?

i already checked fuses

There may be a wire that is a 'fusible link' that has blown. They put these in between the firewall and starter in many GM car. Look for a section of the wire that looks burnt or is brittle. Replacements available at most auto parts stores. Find out why it blew, too!

Your motor needs to be grounded to the body with a nice, thick connection, like a braided strap. Otherwise you could have funky electrical gremlins.

Well its the negative cable that comes off your battery runs down and attaches to the stud on the pass side motor mount that attaches to the block.Just follow the cable down and see if you accidently didnt hook it up when you put the motor in
