metallic ringing noise coming from car
I don't notice it when I'm revving it in neutral, or even in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. But there is an audible metallic ringing or rattling coming from what sounds like my engine, maybe tranny. It almost sounds like a rattle noise, but not as pronounced. You don't notice it unless you are driving the car everyday, like me, and you have to have the radio all the way down and the window down, with no traffic around, to hear it. I haven't noticed any performance losses or anything, so I just want to see if yall have any idea of what it could be. Normal? something loose? something worse? Anyone experience this before? thanks for the help.

Like 777 said, it's probably a heat shield vibrating. It might also be a small exhaust leak. Check the Heat shield near the muffler, as I had a similar issue with my old '94 Z. Hope this helps!
