Talking pics of the new daily driver...

My girlfriend and I got sick of our truck giving us hell all the time so we're getting rid of it. We were talking about getting something sensible, like a Cavalier or Grand Am or something. Then she, yes SHE threw it out there that the SS gets pretty damn good gas mileage, and we could get another LS1 for around the same price we were looking to spend anyway... so why not? So we did, '02 B4C with 92k miles, former FHP car.

Before the fresh paint job...

As it was delivered...

We picked it up at noon, here it is at 4pm...

First side by side photoshoot is this weekend

Car looks great. Good job on adding the hood and spoiler. What kind of plans do you got for it?

Mostly the usual... all the bolts ons and suspension. Plus I'm going to put lights/siren/radio because it's going to be our DARE car for shows. I was thinking about two-toning it somehow but I think I'll just do the manta stripe and run it all the way back.

Thanks The first pic is it as a FHP car, no front plate. The people I bought it from put a plate bracket on there because they're actually supposed to by law.

And naturally... the minute I got it I ripped that bitch off There's a billet grill going in later this week.

While it would be fun as hell to drive around scaring folks with lights and sirens I believe it is illeagal to sell a former police vehicle to the public with the lights, sirens still attached and functional. A lot of states won't even allow the dealers who buy former police cars to sell them with the multi tone police paint schemes. Many states either require the dealer paints the cars before sale or has the customer sign an agreement that they will get the cars painted within some finite time frame like 60 or 90 days from sale date.

Nice car by the way. Black has always been my favorite LS1 color. Looks bad ***.

I'm a police officer, so no it isn't illegal. I'm allowed to have police equipment on my personal car.

Regardless, it isn't going to be "dressed up like a cop car." All the police equipment will be inside the car, not really visible unless you're looking for it. Like I said before, we're probably going to go with the manta stripe all the way back for the paint scheme... nothing cop car-ish about that. And I'm having a buddy of mine make all the markings so they can be removed/reapplied for car shows.
