I went 13.59@105.59 Hot day stock (GSC'S) , Now I have 4.10's, 315/35's DR's, 4" catback, KnN FIPK, Crane Tune, MSD Wires, TR55's NGK, Lighter Fikse wheels and although I haven't gone to the track (I'm selling the car) It feels like a monster in 3rd and 4th gear, should at least do 110mph I'll repost soon I'm going to the track to see what mph increase I got from the mods (won't launch hard, just looking for mph). Mid 12's from those minor mods would force me to keep the car! That would be impressive! I can see it possible !

I love my 4.10's but have read that if you drag race often, you might want 3.73's.
You may have to shift into 5th, which is overdrive(not optimal), to finish the race.

My reply was that you would get up to that speed faster with 4.10's so you would have a better time. But i was told I would lose the gained time by having to shift an extra gear. Either way, I llike the 4.10's, very driveable on the street, and far enough from stock that they are worth getting.
why take 1 step up when you can take 2??

with a 245-50-16 tire in a m6 at 6200rpm with 4.10s your at 115

and every 100rpms you increase you can top of 2mph more
6200-115
6300-117
6400-119
and so on.

dont want to raise the rev limiter up to hight (like me gonna stay SI) get a taller tire
at 6400rpm with 4.10 in 4th with a 28"tall tire your top speed in 4th is 130
thats more then i plan on traping. (low 11 with a 100 shot)

I trapped 111 before the ported TB and tune. I would love to have some steep gears but with 4.10s I would run outta gear even all motor. And on the spray especially, 120mph traps. Guess I'll have to wait til the 9 in and 3.90s

BTW...I know I could go with a taller tire, but I just want to run stock size...not a track car....Nittos are as extreme as I get

12.69 @109 with headers and tune

12.30 @ 113 with 4.10s +ls6 intake and cutout, but i could bet .34 of that is from the gears alone.

I am also looking at some gears for my car. Its an A4 and mods are in my sig. Would 4.10s be alright for a daily driver? I don't mind revving at 2k rpms on the HW I just wanna be quick stoplight to stoplights. Where's the best place to purchase these?

If you have an automatic I would not go any higher than a 3.73 otherwise the you have a hard time driving it on the highway

raise the rev limiter, I'm at 6600 and banging off of it depends on how I hook some spin and it hits the limiter.
