z06 tranny in an f-bod?
As the title says:How much work would be involved in fitting the transmission from a 2002 z06 into a 99 f-bod? I've done searches but i just can't seem to get the results im looking for. Thanks in advance.

The trany in your F-body is in the front of the car, the tranny in the 97+ corvettes is integrated with the deferential and uses a remote shift linkage for the shifter. You would be better off just buying a Z06. If your looking to get the gear ratios from the tranny you can look to G-force transmissions. They have a number of optional gears.

The reason im askin is because I have a tranny sitting here that I can use.
What does it take to get shift-linkage to work on an the motormounted f-body configuration?
Thanks, again.

A lot of conversion. If you had an old Fcar unit you could swap castings and linkage parts . If you don't have a donor unit you'ld be better off selling what you have and buying the correct model. The parts you will need are $$$.

While that is correct ,what was asked was can a Z06 Corvette unit be used.In the end, it will be essentially a GTO with a different offset lever but that is not what he asked.
