Default Shifter question.

I was wondering, does anybody make a shifter that'll lock you out of certain gears? Like, if you were at more 100 percent throttle, or above a certain mph it would lock out the gears that are too low, like how reverse is locked out until 5 mph? I think this would be a good idea, never have to worry about those famous 2-1 or 3-2 shifts.

It would be sweet to tune it so each gear gets locked out at the rev limiter. First is locked out at over 50 mph, 2nd at 75, 3rd at 105. Help avoid any mechanical over revs. If b&m or some other shifter company hasn't made one yet, I dont know what they are waiting for.

What did you do? I was thinking maybe figuring something out with the skip shifter, like hotwiring that or something and using that to block things out? I don't know how I would get started on this though... I would really like to do something like this, because I am always so scared of accidently hitting the wrong gear and messing up my motor. I mean, the skip shifter could prevent a 3-2 shift or 4-3, but not 2-1 I don't think, maybe rigging up another reverse block out solenoid to it?

You can easily control the access to the 1/2 gate . It is the 3/ 4 gate that requires some serious cobbling. Although you can control individual gears separately, it is extremely complex(and expensive). It is easiest to control the gates( 1/2 , 3/4/ & 5/6)
