Results from Saturday TNT with ET Street Radials
After reading all the hype and good results I broke down and bought a set! 275/60/15, my regular tires from now on (I'll report back on rain conditions) as my other wheels have my ET drags on them. Drove the Nova to the track, aired down to 18 psi from road 21 psi setting. These drive VERY nice compared to ET Street regs or sportsman pros. Small 2-3 second burnout in 2nd gear, foot brake at 1800 rpm resulted in:
60 foot - 1.547
1/8 mile - 7.25 @ 93.85
1/4 - 11.470 @ 115.57
After another 1.555 60 foot I decided to try out the transbrake and push my luck!
Off the t-brake at 3400 rpm
60 foot - 1.520
1/8 mile - 7.213 @ 93.89
1/4 - 11.430 @ 115.77
Only 3 thou off my personal best on slicks, and the DA was hovering around 1100-1200 feet! Made another hit at 1.526 60 foot and a 11.450 @ 115.56.
Needless to say I'm very impressed. I don't think I'd use them for bracket racing during the summer, but definately a fun drive out, race, then drive home play tire.

Great runs Derek! Yea, I'm a fan of those tires too. They hooked well enough for me last night to snap a u-joint as you saw.
The truck did turn a 1.78 60ft. I think the u-joint snapping run would have been in the 1.6x's because it really launched out hard for the first about .05 seconds.

Russ,
Glad to hear it was something minor. I was a little worried when they were pushing you back, and started to unbuckle until I didn't see any fluid and they started us back up again. Hope you get that 11 second pass soon!
David,
Y these are the new radials. I ran the ET street bias-ply designs until the end of last year, and after a few problems with them I swapped to stiff-sidewall slicks. I decided to swap out my non-drag 275/60/15 radials for a set of these a few weeks back after reading all the good news on them. They hook great on the street, and I figured "let's see what they do on the track." You got it right, the slicks are better for consistency, especially during the summer when track temps get up there (I've seen 135 degree temps at Gainesville with 3500 DA's, and the track can get slick)!
John, I was amazed they held not one but 2 t-brake launches. #3 it chattered them good to a 1.576 60 foot, but the track was going away a little by 11 pm! I almost gambled and tried a nitrous launch on them. They definately felt good airing out the front end b/c I kept thinking "these won't hold a transbrake launch" then off the button and they dead-hook. Big smile on my face after the 11.43 pass!

I'd wish you luck too, but based on your early reports, seems you don't need it this year!

Good to hear, I'm replacing my 26x11.5 et street with the 275-60-15 radial this year.. I'm gonna try them at first off the footbrake, and if they are holding good, then I'm putting the transbrake on start at 3500, see what happens. if it holds, up to 4000 it will go, next after that is right on the converter
