Default TCI SSF4000 vs Yank SS4000, on the street

I have had four converters in my car: stock, SSF3500, SSF4000 and just recently SS4000.

The Yank is tighter than the TCI was, but it's not a significant difference as far as I can tell. It's hard to say for sure as I didnt have the car functioning for several weeks in between converters, but my guess is that if I were to park the car when the SSF was installed and the SS was magically in place after about a week I would not even notice unless I knew there was a difference and was looking for it.

Yank is 4,000 stall speed, STR 2.6
SSF is 4,000 stall and STR 2.5

I'll have track comparisons before too long. Sorry I can't post anything more specific or exact, but that was my experience for anyone who may be curious.

Curious to see your 1/4 mi ET info with the SS4000 after you hit the track.

Long story short: The converter took a crap (again). It did basically the same thing last year, but I had it taken out by pure chance immediately after the warning sign (failure to lockup). This year I drove it for one day after it stopped locking up and it went completely out. TCI says they will open it up and fix anything that needs it (again) but my lazy a** hasn't shipped it to them yet. Rather than risk a third converter related problem I went ahead and ordered the Yank.

i think you made the right choice...if it has done it twice what says it wont happen again..give the ball to another company and see if they drop it as well..IMO

so if my converter is locking up.. then slipping out of lock up randomly.. that means its going bad? or could it be my tuning?

I have the SSF3500 and a 226/226/.591 cam. How much would the 4000 stall take of my ets.

Can't say. Maybe somebody else will chime in.

If you could get a scanner hooked up to it and see when it is being instructed to lock/unlock that would help. If it unlocks when it is supposed to be locked it's not a tuning or electronic issue.

Can't say for sure. That cam probably matches a 3500 pretty well. What are your 60's as is? If I had to ballpark, maybe a tenth or so.
