Default Help:TH400 LS1 Starter Problems

I put a TH400 in my car this year and I bought a TCI flexplate from LS1speed specifically for a LS1 TH400. I bought a brand new stock starter and when I try to start the car it just grinds. I tried shimming the starter and it made it worse. I am not sure if I am supposed to use a different starter or what I should do. If anybody can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. PM me or post on here or email me direct at tmorales@wfwhelan.com

Thanks.

Tony

I am not sure on the stock starter part # but for the flexplate it is a TCI part # TCI399753. Do I need to use a different starter or something?

kwiw, what was the issue? Improperly installed flexplate I am guessing.

No spacer is needed with the ATI or TCI models FWIW.

For some reason I had to shim the starteron the outside bolt. It was weird because I ahve never had to do that before but I had to this time. It works now so that is all that matters.

Thanks.
