There are a few 6 speed Supra's that are running 8's. That can't be said for any C5/C6 or any f-body I've seen or heard of. That F#$ing thing was MOVING!

There are F-body's running 8's. There's even a NA F-body LS1 that broke into 8.95. There's some turbo F-body's well into the eights.
Now, let's give Supra's their credit. Their Drag Radial record is in the eights. That's just plain SICK. Supra's can TAKE OFF. Yeah, some are dyno queens that give others a bad name. DEF not all, though.

OMG, sooo fast, secks on wheels. Lets say you got a stock supra..... what does it take mods to get it to that level and what kinda price tag? I know my turbo V8's but Supra's are a whole new ballgame?

Well, max-effort Supra's do NOT run on their stock internals. However, compared to ~500 rwhp (the "agreed" safe estimate for LS1's), 2JZ motors handle ALOT. Many Supra owners just buy a bigger turbo, fuel mods, etc. and can see 650+ (Not too sure...) rwhp on stock pistons/rods. It's VERY impressive for stock to say the least especially for early to mid-90's cars we're talking about here.

I know Mike Carlin's Supra was 980rwhp on stock internals...
And i believe there are a couple street tire class Supras in the 7's now. Not with a 6-speed, but just figured i'd set that record straight.

Yeah and there are LS1's here with ~700 plus on stock internals... But the agreed safe number is still ~500 rwhp.
I didn't say 650/700 rwhp was the most they (2JZ internals) can run or the limit... I said what is generally agreed to be "safe" by the majority. Most Supra owners don't do 980 rwhp on stock internals I believe... Correct me is I'm wrong.
Let me re-phrase: MOST max-effort Supra's do not run stock internals... And 980 rwhp IS DEFINITELY NOT max-effort for the 2JZ.

Yes there are F-body's in the eights but as far as I know there are NO six speed F-body cars in the eights. Please correct me if I am wrong...
Also, the Supra drag radial record is 7.906 @ 180.77 done by MSP racing in a 3315 pound Supra with the stock IRS and on a skinny tire too, their best trap speed is 185.44 mph.
The fastest 2JZ-GTE powered car in the world has gone 6.40 @ 220 mph.

Yep, these folks kept leaving out the fact that indeed NO 6 speed LSX cars have been in the 8's. That supra left out like freaking crazy. WOW!

Undoubtedly, the 2JZ is one of the world's most prominent engines in the performance industry. Built super strong from the start and having gained many significant advantages by virtue of the years of refinement it's had since its debut, it's only natural it should be ahead of the LS1.

Turbo's are, for the most part, still largely ignored by MOST privately owned LS1's and all but a select few speed shops... The LS1 community is beginning to understand, however and due largely in part to lost appeal in running easy 10's and 9's, how to build high, turbo boost applications for the faster times...
There have been too many LSX owners that have been happy running centrifugal blowers and nitrous set-ups to the near 1k rwhp levels and running all kind of 9's... With little to no aftermarket support for turbo applications, it's a road many have not wanted to tread with mentalities such as, "LS1's don't need no stinking turbos," and other such kinds of closed-mindedness, leaving these kind of turbo set-ups to be accomplished by unique custom shop projects (Lingenfelter, etc.) with little appeal to most drivers.
This is changing with a growing number of turbo system manufacturers available for a wider range of budgets and an OVERWHELMING interest in turbo's over centrifugal superchargers (look at some polls in the FI section) as its cause for the LSX motors. LS1's are now beginning to iron out the "turbo bugs" little by little , I believe, and soon we will see many 1500 rwhp+ turbo LSX's as long as people like these http://video.ls1tech.com/video/7DDC9F8B-ACAF-4288-A220-BF08228A2B5F.htm , for example, continue their work and keep moving forward. Low 8's and 7's will be here in a couple of years.

Just to add a little more if you guys don't mind... :)
There have been MORE than a couple of M6 (MANUAL) LS1 F-body's (~3400 lbs. race weight) running 9.49's with 650-700 rwhp blower apps for some years...
Hmmm... What are all these ~1500 rwhp turbo LS1's gonna be running as we begin to see more of them, and their refinement, research, and experience continues to a level closer to those blower set-ups?
I wonder?

Not much faster, at least with any form of reliably, while using a stock GM six speed, 10 bolt rear end, or the factory axles...
 Who uses a 10 bolt in the nines?
 12-bolt rear is an almost immediate upgrade, and when your front tires are going to be in the air VERY often, a 9" rear is even better.
The 9 sec blower street LS1's are not running faster times NOT because their trannies are breaking... They're KINDA not running faster because they're maxing their set-ups' power... In the ~700 rwhp range... NOT ~1000 rwhp.
W2W's turbo LS1 (quickest LS1 in the world right now) does not have any reliability issues I'VE heard of.
Lingenfelter set-ups aren't known for their propensity to fall apart, either.
YES, the stock Supra rear is quite useful for many power levels.
