Throttle Body Choices!!!
Getting an MTI Lid Granatelli MAF and throttle body in about two weeks.
Which one should I get:
1. FAST 78mm
2. BBK 80mm
3. Nick Williams 90mm
I want the fast 90... with intake, but not enough money and I hear its not worth it unless you have a cam and heads.
I can afford all three choices so I want to know if one is better than the others.
Help please!!!

well the hole in the front of the LS1/LS6 manifold is 75mm(or73 i forget) so getting a 90tb on that will do you no good, the hole will still be that small, it will probably be less efficient, porting the stock tb will give you that exact diameter. unless your getting a fast intake, dont buy a throttle body, its a waste of money

i have an 80mm bbk i like it but truthfully if a could go back, i would not have bought it, i would just port the stocker and spent the money on somethin else. like gears. im still rockin out the 2.73's.... the only plus over ported stocker is looks, and i got a couple of stickers.... that im never gonna put on my car... so my vote is port the stock one

I would not touch that MAF either, leave the stocker alone. You're going to spend money on an aftermarket MAF that will only gain a *couple* horsepower, if it doesn't make your car actually run worse.

TPIS sell a 90mm LS6 intake and 90mm TB's for it.
Don't bother with the BBK unit it's not worth the money IMO. Just stick to a ported stock TB, it will perform well and if you do it yourself it's FREE.
Have heard lots of issues with the BBK unit. Also I personally feel the gains to be had from the FAST 78 are not worth the cost.
I'm not certain but I don't think a NW 90 will fit a LS6 anyway.
For most people it should be one of these options:
For LS1 intake owners either:-
1. Ported stock TB & LS6
2. FAST 90 with NW 90 TB
For LS6 intake owners:-
1. TPIS 90mm LS6 and 90mm TB
2. FAST 90 with NW 90 TB
Professional Products has just launched a 85mm intake and TB combo with a 96mm on the way. They look promosing especially for the money but the FAST 90 is still likely to be king of the hill
BTW - unless you're pushing 600rwhp or so leave the stock MAF alone, aftermarket ones are more hassle than their worth for the most part.
