Default has anyone put a TA hardtop spoiler onto a convertible??

Yea, I'd like them too if they had the spoiler. One guy posted some pics of his car with a regular T/A spoiler mounted on top of his stock one. It didn't look too bad, but not too great either. 'Verts would look if they came stock with the regular spoiler.

Makes me wonder why the T/A vert didn't get the high mount. A T/A vert with a high mount would look bad ***!!...especially a WS6

i heard it has something to do with aerodynamics of the top being down... i think the same reason why the notchback GTA got the regular spoiler and not the wraparound

ya from that pic, you can tell that it is NOT factory, he just set the TA spoiler on top of the decklid spoiler, at factory height, you never know, but i agree, in that pic it does not look right, it looks kinda rice.

One of the odd things about that pic is that the coupe wing is pushed all the way back on the 'vert spoiler.

The reason for that is the same reason the 'vert didn't get the coupe wing in the first place - the trunk hinge/seam.

The coupe's hatch has a pivot point ahead of the tips of the wing, but the 'vert's trunk wouldn't. Apparently it was more trouble than it was worth to develop a solution since they had the Firebird spoiler handy.

They also did not originally produce the verts with a big wing because of rear window visibility.

If the wing was sitting on a flat deck lid, like the convertible Camaro's, it might look good, but there would have to be A LOT of fabricating involved.

They (GM) could have done it.... just mold the spoiler line into the car where the seam is... but they didn't to save cost so oh well... I have a TTop car anyways

i like the red one, it looks like the carve out the flat spoiler and fiberglasses the highrise into it. looking at the convertable t/a's i think if you removed the glass from a t/a hatch you should just be able to drill some new holes on the underside of the deck lid to use it as a trunk
just imagein a t/a hatch without the glass
