get longtubes and ory ...need cats??
just wondering, im thinking about getting a set of pacesetter headers and off road y pipe, and im just wondering if i upgrade the headers and y pipe, do i need to get aftermarket cats as well? or will the stocks do?

It would be hard to weld in those tiny *** inlet/outlet stock cats. The y-pipe will be a 3" piece, while the stockers are more like 2.5"ish.
In California, you can't change the location of the factory cats, so you will not be able to pass inspection even with "stock" cats welded into the y-pipe. Even if you pass emissions testing, you will fail the visual.
Lots of people here add cats to refine the sound of their cars. You can order an aftermarket 3" y-pipe with cats already in it. Check out Texas-Speed.com. They have awesome prices on Pacesetter headers as well as their y-pipes.

i have the borla adj dual tip exhuast and my main concern is that by me adding headers and a y pipe my exhuast will sound shitty and raspy as hell, and i heard the only way to tone that down is to add cats and then the system will sound sweet. if i had any other cat back i would saw screw the cats, but since i dont want to sound all raspy, i gues i need cats with my borla
