What should I replace the Loudmouth resonator with?
Ive heard many replies....Dynomax bullet, Borla XR1, Magnaflow bullet....Give me more ideas. I want the one thats going to sound the best without having a undefined sound and a rasp. Im keeping the Loudmouth set up for now, just need to replace the resonator, thanks.

You have all those options you listed. You could even put a regular old glasspack in there... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
The most expensive is the Borla.
The least expensive is the DynoMax bullet.
The most clearance is provided by the bullet.
The Borla and Magnaflow are larger and offer less ground & driveshaft clearance. It is tight but can be done.
IMO they all sound good, I did the bullet in the I pipe because of the price. Dirt cheap. Now that the car has been lowered, I am glad I did it.
I don't have any sound clips of the others, but on page 2 of my website I have 3 sound clips of exhausts with the bullet (24222) as the only muffler. Dark Angel's clip is an LM with the res replaced with a 24222. The other 2 are stock exhausts with the 24222 in the I (poor man's LM).
If you want it a little softer, or if you don't have cats, then you should use the longer bullet, part #24219.
Good luck
Dave

SOUND BETTER!!! SOUND BETTER!!!
I have to tell you, i have the LM, and replaced the resonator with a bullet....i was disappointed, as it did quiet it down noticably, but WOT sounds the same....Im actually lookin for the old skool lope exhaust...but that comes with cam and head work, which im not ready for...good luck

i got a ?when you changed the resonator to a bullet muffler did the inside resonses die down or stay the same?i have the lm and love the sound outside but want it quieter inside.is this the nature of the beast or has anyone reduced the cabin noise without adding weight or taking away the hp gains of a free flowing cat back.im new to the muscle car game and am just wondering if i can have my cake and eat it too?

I have a Borla XR-1 in place of the resonator.
IMO, there is no way to make an LS1 sound like the old small block, no matter what you do. Having said that, when I crank down on it, it sounds good. Cruising speed is a nice background rumble. 'course I hear a lot more sound w/a 3500 stall converter. (take that, CHP!- folks that think a 2800 stall is tops)

you might wanna consider the Moroso spiral flow, thats what I'm gonna use on my LM when I install my headers. They are a few dollars more and just a tad quieter than the bullet.

The Borla XR-1 number is 40085. I believe I got mine at either Jegs or Summit.
It cruises with a nice rumble but has no rasp.

I used just a regular bullet. I run long tubes, no cats and a loudmouth with that bullet and when cruising; it sounds like my car when it was stock with just a loud mouth. Makes the car really streetable. Idle is gonna be louder and when you stomp on it....it's pretty loud.
