99ls1 v 01 ls1?
ive got a 99 TA thats getting a new engine, my warranty company sent a 99 rebuilt motor that my mechanic checked out and said was garbage...metal in the pan....soooo the warranty company decided to send me a 01 ls1...im just wondering what the differences are between the two motors?....intake manifold? egr, air, etc etc

I'd cnc the newer heads, the 853's are alot more limited than the 241's, and building a stroker/back up block is a good idea if you plan on modding up quite a bit. For reference, my heads are just stage II 241's and then I have a tr224 .563 112, and made the power in the sig through a stalled auto, not bad for mild heads.

i see.....ill prolly go with a low stall, a zo6, or cheatr cam, and full exhaust....that should put me easily at 400 rwhp....thats my goal....this new motor will save me a good amount of money with those heads and that manifold.....i just got a cutout that im gonna add to the stuff in my sig....im thinkin 315-320 after that....mechanic said with that old motor and just the lid and tb port, i was making around 295 rwhp becuase of the a4

i just want it driveable, streetable whatever....i want something that will hold idle and not give me problems...i felt one of those two would be the way to go....i know everything works together...but just to be dumb, headers and straight pipe is about 30hp all together, lid port tb and manifold 20-30, tune 10-15, cam and heads around 50....i think those are pretty conservative numbers, like i said i know they all rely on each other but thats a guess
