Default T56 Stuck in 6th gear???

i was driving on the highway and i went through the gears like normal, then i was crusing in 6th for about 10 miles, then all of a sudden when i had to get off an exit the car was stuck in 6th. i tried everything...pumping the clutch pulling and pushing the shifter and nothing. so i finally rolled to the shoulder and called AAA and got it towed to my house. even when the car is off i wont come out of gear????????????any thoughts

2002 Pontiac trans am ws6 mods in sig.

thanks guys

try having someone gently rocking the car back and forth, while gently applying pressure to shifter.

You can break the slider keys in the 5/6 syncro also. I have seen that B-4.
That is likely the problem. Got to remove & diassemble the trans to fix it.
