I just put an LS7 clutch, LS2 flywheel, 288 slave, and a new pilot bearing in my 1998 Z28 this past weekend. I already have the drill out mod with the newest master cylinder from my last clutch install. I was running a Spec III (ceramic) which still looks pretty good. No hot spots on the pressure plate or flywheel. I didn't care for the chatter on my daily driver.

I have about 10 miles on the new LS7 clutch, so not much to report right now. The only thing that bugs me is that the clutch engages right off the floor. I hope this improves. I'm putting down around 380 rwhp NA.

Have 300 miles on mine, putting down maybe 325-330 at the wheels. I already have a thread up here describing in detail how it feels and what I did.

I just did mine last Saturday. I've already got about 800 miles on it. It has started to move up off the floor. It did engage right off of the floor when I first installed it. It feels great, I put a new slave cylinder at the same time and it feels almost like the stock clutch did. I'm putting down around 450 and so far it's holding up well

I agree. The low point of engagement had me concerned at first, but I'm learning to live with it. It does grab much better than the stock clutch though.

I got over a 1000 on mine. Hot lapped it about 8 times on Drag radials and 385RWHP. No problems.

I had low engagement too untill I got a new master from the Dealer. Works like stock.

Did you get a new stock replacement master or something else?

Also those guys with aluminum flywheels. Which flywheel did you go with and how much lighter than stock was it?

Fidanza is the only one making them so far AFAIK. They are in short supply too evidentaly, so I had to get mine through an Ebay store after every regular supplier was sold out.

I didn't get a chance to weigh every piece individually, but the whole Ls7 assembly is roughly 8 lbs heavier then the LS6 set up. The alum Ls2 flywheel is only a half a lb heavier then the alum Ls1 flywheel. If you figure that the differance between the ls1 alum/oem set up is roughly 11 lbs and that holds somewhat the same for the ls2 set up then you are only finding a loss of maybe 4-5 lbs in the rotating mass, or what a ls1 billet steel flywheel would feel like over the stocker.

As my car stands now I can tell a little bit of a differance on the high end, but nothing earth shattering. I think the only way to be able to get the gains is to wait for spec to make a billet pressure plate for the ls7 like they just released for the ls1, since that seems to be where most of the weight increase is.
