Default header gasket and bolt qustions

I have pacesetter long tubes with an ory pipe and was wondering if anybody has used carbon gaskets with these on an lt1. I am trying to decide between aluminum gaskets or carbon gaskets and have no experience with either. Also, anyone ever used stage 8 bolts on their headers? Are the carbon gaskets or stage 8 bolts worth the extra money?

I just used fel-pro 1406 gaskets from summitracing and they work great for me. They are steel core laminate and it seems they are used by many guys on here. As for bolts, I bought ARP ones but I ended up just using the ones that came with the headers and they havent come loose. I heard stage 8 bolts are real nice but a pain to install...

I used percys aluminum gaskets and they are awesome, you can port them too to match the flange, I also used the stage 8 bolts, they worked wonders, but they are a serious pain to get on there its not so much the bolts, but its the retainer clips, you will have to grind down the locks to sit correctly on the bolts also, but its doable, I did all 12 on my TA with FLP headers in about 2 hours, and I spent 20 minutes looking for an e-clip that fell, it was on top of the header collector the whole time, but I say invest in good gaskets and the locking bolts, it will save you a lot of pain later.

I second the Fel 1406. I have used it for years with no problems.

I got a nice set of bolts with locks but didn't end up using the locks--however, the header bolts were 1" instead of the typical 3/4"--they REALLY do the trick. I've never had a single one loosen up on me.
