Default Went to slp website and have a question on one of their heads and cam packages.

Cylinder-Head-and-Cam Package, 1999-05 346 CID LS1 525 HP
So slp has a head and cam package that gives you 525hp and I was just wondering if anyone has bought this package and installed it.
Camshaft Specs: Valve Lift Duration@.050
in: .590" 236º
ex: .590" 236º

Centerline - 112º
Lobe Separation - 112º
Wondering if it really gives you 525 cause I want more power, but not that much. Maybe high 400 like 475. I have a borla cat back air lid and it was professionally tuned so am I going to have even more then 525hp if i install it. I was also wondering what it is like to have this package can you still drive your car comfortably and will the gas mileage be terrible compared to how it is now.

SLP generally rate HP at the flywheel and then it's not the same rating as SAE Net. So the numbers although probably true are indeed very mis-leading.

Also the SLP packages tend to be pretty pricey and include stuff you really don't need.

TSP offer some great value packages as do many other companies. But depending on your goals you may be able to achieve them cam only.

I also suggest you check out other sponsor before SLP. Those horsepower ratings also assume a professional tune.

As the others said, look around before you buy. There is a number of good vendors on here that will have what you're looking for.

TSP has some good packages going right now. That's who I bought my stuff from.

Good products and great customer service.
