Default Best way to block off EGR on intake?

I have the ls6 intake with the EGR provision (brass fitting on top) but want to start some weight reduction. What is the best way to block off the intake and take the EGR system out?

well search this site for Jason's 99TA (from Thunder racing) and he posted once about going to get a rebber freeze plug at your local parts store. i dont remember what the size, but it was like 1 7/8" or so. just tighen to fit. it worked for me for a while untill i got my ls6 intake.

LOL i am in the exact situation right now here is what i did.

I went to my dads shop and percision cut a piece of aluminum to the exact length and width to have a press fit in there.

Then i pulled fitting out and pressed in in.

Then i shaved about half of the fitting off (the hex part in the intake to reduce air resistance over that part of the fitting)

Then i took the o-ring off of the intake side of the fitting.

Then i slid fitting back up into manifold put rtv sealer around where the fitting meets the intake and then slid o-ring over the fitting and put nut on and tighenend it down.

it looks good.

lol do what ever u want that was just an idea
