Need help tonight, valve spring question, please help!!
Hey guys in a little pickle. I bought the tsp ls6 heads and they came with these weird looking valve seals. They look like they are a seal and a shim in one. I want to swap over my crane duel valve springs with tit retainer. My question, can i take off the tsp springs, retainers, seals and this shim they had on there and put every thing i had on my ls1 heads. If this is confusing let me know but i really need to get the job done this week end. Thanks

On '02+ heads (and TSP probably used factory stuff) the valve seal and base plate (what keeps the steel spring from digging into the aluminum head) are one unit.
Earlier engines had the little shim (simply a shim to protect the soft aluminum head form the hard steel spring) and seal seperate.
On the new deal the seal and shim (it's not really a shim) are built into one. Simply take off what they did and when you intall the new stuff make sure you have the installed height the same as it was. That's what matters.
