Default how much more $ do i need

ok i have a patriot 226/226 585/585 112lsa cam sitting in my room. i want/need to get this damn thing in the car but don't know how much i need to budget for. whats springs should i get and do i need hardened pr/ oil pump/ retainers etc? how much am i going to need to get the rest of the parts? i am debating on installing myself. what would be a comp. rate to have a sponser shop do it( thunder or mti- as i am in the middle of them both) also how much should i set aside for a tune. i think i am looking at like 1500 or so what do you think. and name the parts i need to get. thakns

Install yourself. With the install guide, its quite easy. Just budget a few days for the project your first time out.

1500 is should be enough for the most part. go to ls1howto.com and read their cam and valvespring install guide. It'll anwser all your questions.

ps. you should get harden pushrods, at least comp 918 springs and titanium retainers. You could get away with your stock oil pump but I'd get a ported ls6 pump anyways. Don't cheap out, you'll regret it later.
