Another Hot Turbo Car?

Another Hot Turbo Car?
took the car out today trying to get the motor broke in. went 20 miles, temps were low, at least according to the gauge, 98 car. 170-190's. i pulled into my mom and dads and my dad wanted to go for a ride, we went down the road, looked down and temps were 220+. took it back home, and couldnt get it to cool down. took out thermostat and discovered it was stuck so we took out the guts and put it back on. added some water temps didnt move? down to 210. turned car off to allow it to cool down. 30 min later went back out, started it and started adding the water. temps low, 170'ish. come 20 milies back up the road, stayed cool, below 210 on the gague. parked it in the shade temps near 210 at idle. running stock rad. and a single 16in pusher. water anitfreeze mix. ac and components gone. . what should i do now.
how unsteady does the car get when you cut that front support to sit the rad back up, that way i can put the stock fans back on.
also the single push quit working and wouldnt come back on, fuse is fine so i wired it hot. any suggestions

I use twin pushers. I dont have the AC radiator thingy up there so that helps flow of air. I never get temps over 200 no matter how hard i drive adn i dont ahve any guts in my tstat like u did. GL with it and get a twin fan in there. Pusher or puller is fine but tinw FTW!!

Well, I don't know if the stock gauge or my aftermarket is more accurate, but the stocker runs at least 20 degrees cooler than my autometer. I tend to believe the autometer... 'cause when it says I'm running 235 the engine just seems way too hot... you get the feeling that you're pretty close to a boil over event from the smell and heat.
RiceETR on here runs two 12" HP Spal pushers in front of his AC condenser. I am having this installed on my car now, and we're also going to try to seal the edges between the condenser and the radiator (top and sides) to help force more air all the way through the radiator.
Simplest fix is to lose your AC and stick pushers on the rad with a nice shroud.
Tiago, how do you have room for pullers with your turbos?

i think i got all of the air out of my system....i think. how can i really check? so you are saying i need a tstat, instead of nothing. and you dont think that the 16in pusher is doing the trick? i just hate to start cutting on my support to put the stockers back in place. not much room between the turbo and rad. keep the suggestions coming, i will try anything

You have to have either the fill point at the highest point in the system, or have an air bleeder at a high point in the system. I think you said your radiator is laid down so it may be really low (dont know a whole lot about late camaros/firebirds). Also, ive read a bunch of tech articles that all say the puller fan setup is superior to a pusher. If you have the room it definitely wouldnt hurt to mount pulling fans instead of a pusher. good luck hope you get her cooled down

Imo you need the stat to reg. temps and control flow. You could use a temp gun to check temps (Verify gauge readings). I would check it around the stat and you could also check the temp drop across the rad. Do you have room for a pusher and a puller to pull air across both sides of the radiator? If your like me I would def. want to be keepin the A/C. Maybe it's time for a rad. upgrade?
