Default Problem w/ Putting it into Park

i cant get the tranny to go into park. i took the tranny pan off to drain the trans. and when under it i checked to see whats going on on the ratcheting thing that puts it in 1,2,d,od,n,r,p and i cant get the ratchet to go into p. the notch is on it. but something inside the transmission is stopping it. any ideas on what i forgot to release or do to keep it from doing that.

I have no idea, never worked on trans before, but I installed a switch in the bottom of the ashtray, and the bottom part of the switch was blocking the selector from moving into park. I don't know if you did anything like that, but check under the ashtray and see if anything fell in there.

the dumb *** who built the rebuild put the linkage inside the tranny on backwards. cause itll fit either way, but only goes into park the correct way. now having problems w/ getting the ******* tranny turning the driveshaft. wont move anything.
