Default Problems with cutting off catalytic converters

Hey, this is my first post and I must say awesome site. I'm sure this question has been asked alot and I've searched the forums for it but can't find anything. I want to cut the converters off of a 2000 silverado with 4.8L. I've heard from some that it will not run. I've also heard I could keep the front two mounted into the pipes, unhook the back ones and wrap them up so they wont get wet. I know about the O2 simulators but wanted to see what you guys do. I would love to hear it without cats, its got 3 inch pipe running through Dynamax Bullets(highway illegal). Thanks for any help.

Default Re: Problems with cutting off catalytic converters

I gutted my stock cats. Just do NOT plug the rear O2 sensors into the wiring harness. You will get an SES light; but the truck will run just fine. My Formula sounds real good with gutted stock cats and no muffler <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" /> .
