by the packaging and the plastic bags (sealed for salt air travel by boat) and if they are under $200 then they are Chinese. The Chinese have had several years to get cranks and rods perfected and for the most part these coming into the states are not bad quality. Valvetrain parts on the other hand. . . well lets just say they need another 10 years of R&D.

So the $300 saved on rockers could be a good deal, but if the roller tip fails do to improper heat treat and the engine drops a valve. . .what have you saved.

Sure, you do run the risk of buying a lower quality part that could fail, or you could snag a great deal and they could function perfectly for a hundred thousand miles. But you run this risk with any product you buy. Its something you have to accept when you start modding a motor.
Last I checked, cam motion ground cams in the USA, however Ive personally trashed two sets of lifters, and countless other motors from users on this board had to be torn down because of a flaw.
How about the comp type R lifters, how many of those things came apart trashing a motor.
OTOH, What about pacesetter headers. When they first came on the scene, you could only get them through ebay. People shat all over them claiming they were total crap and would fall apart within days of installing them. Now they have the reputation as being the best bang for the buck, and are plenty durable.
Some people like to roll the dice. All you can do is know the risks involved.

i dont think i would like to chance it, were talking about a functioning mechanical part that has to be machined and developed perfectly... when i think of these rockers, i think about those crappy korean, or chinese made ATV that they sell at pepboys for a couple hundred bucks... ya they are about 1/4 the price... but they're pieces of ****....
