It's possible on a stock shortblock. There's a couple members on here that have done it.

The key words are 'weight reduction'. Get it down to about 2700 lbs. Get the right heads and cam. Also the right trans/rear end/drive shaft combo.

It's not easy at all to do, but it's possible.

Has it even been done on a 6 speed or auto with stock cubes and no spray? I dont think so, but maybe I just havent seen it. 2500lbs and you should be there.

Getting the car light is the most important thing as said before around 2700lbs.I think both these guys did it with afr 205's and g5x4's.Also smokin01ta ran 10.2's cam only/6speed so its possible

Futral is the only person with a t56(proshifted 4speed) and stock cubes to do it, and he had some freakishly huge cam and some crazy bad *** meaux heads, good power and the right gearing, not to mention LOTS of weight redux and it would be very easy to accomplish in my opinion.

Flycut the pistons would be the only way with some huge solid roller, a proshifted t-56, full suspension, weight reduction, rear end w/ a steep enough gear and a big tire. Lots of money is to be had in this situation.

Also had custom 1.9 rockers, a custom Sheetmetal Intake, and a 250hp shot.
The cam was 245/251 with .757/.762 lift, he was running 13:1 compression, and a forged bottom end.

If you have to ask how much it will cost, how to do it, and if it's streetable; I would be willing to be this NEVER gets done.

Well the whole setup is pretty radical, you would think that would just about net a 9.X by itself.

I'm pretty sure futral didn't use nitrous to get the 9.9.

According to GMHTP's Sept. 04 issue he did. That's what I was going by. 9.89 @ 143.54

Not trying to start a pissing match but the car probably does have a 250 shot and gmhtp must have assumed it was used.Just doing the math 9.89 with a 250 shot = about 11.5-11.8 NA and I think we both know that combo is faster than that.Like I said before smokin01ta ran a 10.2x with just bolt ons and a cam (trex) in a very light proshifted car.Not to mention magnus and juggernaut with h/c stock bottom ends running in the nines with auto trans. It sounds like smokin01ta is going back to making his car more streetable unfortunately because he had a good chance of getting in the 9's cam only.

futral didn't have a bottle when he went the .86, he went quicker NA than he did on nitrous but with a totall different setup. Allan's cam is something in the .790" lift area and some crazy duration, it made 550ish NA

the setup in his sig is different than whats in the car now, the setup in his sit has two times listed both for 346 and t56, it was the same 346, same motor, just different tune up and different cam, atleast thats what Candy told me. he had the same motor in it all that time, now it has like a 358ci in it, makes well over 525 from what she told me back around August '05
