!Nostrils Mod
Not sure which section this should go in, but does anyone have any info on the !nostrils mod, directions, walk-throughs, pics, how effective it is? Thanks in advance.

Re: !Nostrils Mod
i took out my ws-6 baffles, and after seeing what the air has to go through with those things in there, the term 'ram air' is funny. Rip those things out, there is no purpose for them as long as you have an aftermarket air filter IMO.

I saw a pic of somebody's non-WS6 T/A and it had a clean view from the nostrils into the airbox, without that big bump that the hood latch mounts to in the way. I was guessing that this was the !nostrils mod. Anyone know how to do it?

I don't think it's possible for not ram-air hoods to do anything like that. I used to have the regular TA hood as well, so I did plent looking at it. As far as that "hump" that's there, that's the whole latching assembly for the hood, you really can't take that off or cut it (that I'm aware of) So yeah, I think you're SOL, unless you get some pics of that guy's car you saw so we can all see what you're talkin about exactly.

Actually what you are refering to is very possible, and very effectife with a K&N FIPK. I have done what you are talking about. And others have as well. On LS1.com, I saw pics. Do a search using FIPK and FTRA for all the details, but I copied the pics for you to view of what someone else did, so email me if you want them. But what I did was a bit more crude than the pics. The big bump that you refer to which has the hood latch on it, I cut a hole in it on both sides, making the half/nostrils actually functional and it didn't weaken the hood latch, just don't cut too much. But now I have to clean the K&N Filter a little more often, but not much.

Supposedly theres a product out there called BG RAM AIR that runs intakes from the box straight to the ws-6 nostrils.
