D-1sc and what motor???
I have been reading and am not sure i am understanding some things. I have always dealt with nitrous, so please forgive my ignorance. I bought a D-1sc kit and am fixing to build a motor. i was wanting to do a 402 , but am told it won't make power cause the motor breaths to much air and won't see enough boost, then i thought about a 383, my goals are 750-800 rwhp. Is it true that if your motor is built and is effiecient flowing you won't see the boost, but see the power?? The 402, with say AFR 225's probably won't see maybe 10# of boost, not sure, but will put down the power, and use a lower grade octane fuel to do it, or am i wrong in my assumption. Does more boost mean more RPM's the blower is spinning or does that even matter. i have been doing a lot of reading, but boost is all greek to me, sorry for the ignorance, but trying to learn and choose my set up accordingly, and i also plan on using a small 75 shot or maybe a max 100 shot to cool the boost more.
thanks for any help.
David

i've said this many times... PSI has nothing to do with power.
psi only shows the motors restriction.
the amount of air flow going in and out of the motor is what you want.
a 408 and a d1 might get 800rwhp it just depends how much compression and what gas you use.
i'm hoping for 700rwhp in my 408 and d1 with a FMIC and 93 octane

Thanks SS, i also thought about that option of a 370 also, just wanted a little bigger

I would shoot for a compression ratio of 9.5/1 for your engine. Centrifical superchargers don't require as low of a compression ratio as a turbo or a top mount supercharger requires. With your larger engine with a lower boost combo, you will make more power with a little higher compression ratio. Bob

I just put a w2w ls6 blower motor in (346) with a d1sc @ 16psi... Depends on how much power you want to make? I run turbo blue, to be safe, instead of pump gas... The smell is just.... ahhhhhhmazing...
Bob will know a lil more then me on this, but should be able to hit 700at the tires with a 346 and, of course, the right parts... I'll tell you one thing, for the price of my w2w ls6 engine it was the best bang for my buck...

dont use a fast intake use a ls6 intake instead... or use a single plane (which is the best option for more even airflow) GMPP or edlebroch

Ya'll say do not use the fast 90?? So lets say, a 402, blower cam, 9 or 9.5:1 compression, an edelbrock carb style intake, and pulley it for around 12-14# of boost would be a pretty good set up, or should i pulley it for more?

Since my numbers were on stock heads and bottom end and 91 octane, I would say 750rwhp on pump is an easy goal using a built 346. I don't like the 400+ CI motors because they're more prone to belt issues caused by massive low end torque.
