Default LS1 lifter plunger preload

How much can the LS1 lifters be collapsed before they are completely collapsed? Do they have .050 before the plunger is bottomed out?

stock lifter preload is pretty high ~.080 IIRC so there is probably quite a bit more wiggle room than that even.

I was thinking it is lifter dependent. I have Morels, so will be different than others.

I was recently running my stock lifters at 0.120". I believe I read that total plunger travel is 0.143".

So, I need to run lifters with .135 of preload, once its hot we'll see .125.

Ive got a stock lifter in my hand right now. Pushing the plunger down with a pen, I can tell its definately more travel than an eighth of an inch, but not much more. Probably just shy of 3/16. You may be right on the money.
