Default Volt Drop On De-acceleration

when the rpm's drop from hitting it the lights flicker for a second and it seems like the whole car loses electric power for a split second. any ideas on the problem?

all the connections to the battery and alternator seem good.

voltage regulator in the alternator, change it and see what happens, if it doesn't fix it, take it back
