My Turbo Z28 Begins Part 3...
Here is a couple of pics of the turbo kit progress on the motor and tubular K-member. I had to make some changes to the Down pipe due to me mocking it up the first time on the factory k-member. The engine mount tower on the Pro Fab unit was in the way so I re-did the down pipe to fit it.
I am going to try get the motor and trans in the car this week end. My dad is gonna come up and help. I ended up getting the TCI trans control unit to run the 4L80E. I am hoping to have the car running in less than a month. Hopefully in a couple of weeks. Then it is off to get tuned.
For those who havent been following along:
346 cube 8.3:1
02 LS6 cam
LS6 intake and TB
6.0L w/918 springs
6.0L manigold turbo setup
T70 turbo
Tail 50mm BOV
Turbo Smart 48mm WG
OBX intercooler
4L80E "BUILT"
Vig 3800 verter
TCI trans control
Hoping for 550 rwhp on pump gas. Thanks for all that have helped along the way. I am getting close.

Thanks alot guys. I just got the tranny mounted to the motor. I am 99% sure Dad is coming over saturday morning and we are gonna get this all up in the car. I can finish the down pipe after I have everything back in the car so I can keep and eye on my clearances.

Well me and my Dad got the motor and trans in this morning. Finally I am on the way to seeing this car run again. I had to modify the Yank 4L80E x-member to get it to fit. The bolt holes didnt line up for crap. I am just glad to see the real engine in again instead of the mock up motor. I still have plenty left to do, but its all gravy from here. Here are some pics. I hope you enjoy.

It's really coming along. I really thought he would give up on the car, but he's kept at it and should have one hell of a nice finished product (car) when it's completed. Maybe later this evening we can get more done and post more pics up.

Well I took the SS out to the track last night. 13.04 @106 witha 2.02 60'. Didnt want to hammer the clutch to bad so I was happy with the times.
I got the IC pipes fabbed up yesterday afternoon. I am pleased with how it turned out. The only big things I lack are the engine wring harness, TCI trans harness for the 4L80E. I still have to wire up the LC1 wideband and install the NastN8 tank and fuel system components.
It also looks as though I will have to use pusher style fans too. I didnt really want to be stuck with pushers. I guess I could cut the core support and order a aluminum radiator to stand straight up.The I could use pullers. I am gonna try what I have first. No point in spending more money iof the pushers will work.
