Default Will Cometic MLS gaskets setup like stock gaskets?

I am looking at getting Cometic .030" MLS Gaskets for my Darts and was wondering if they setup like stock, meaning PR lenght and preload wont be affected by them. I will be measuring but wasnt sure how thick stock GM gaskets are.

No, the Cometics will be quite a bit thinner than stock. The GM graphite gaskets for the '98-'99 cars are .056 thick. The GM MLS gaskets are over .060 thick (Sorry, I'm not sure of the exact thickness) Look here for more info http://www.sdpc2000.com/catalog/2170...ad-Gaskets.htm

Cool, yeah I wasnt sure what the stock one's were, but Texas Speed has the Cometic MLS gaskets with the option of .030, .040, or .051 I think, which thickness shoud I go with to keep the setup as similar to stock as possible...I have chromoly PR's that are 7.4" and was hoping to keep running them. Also, they are listed as 3.91" bore, that is stock right?

i would probably go with the .040,you'll have around .032 or so quench and that will only make less than a .020 thou difference so your preload won't be that much more.
