I just put in a XER281HR yesterday, 232/236. Car pulls strong, and sounds like a beast. I'll have it dynoed in about a week, but just guessing based on the cam specs, it should be impressive. Oh, btw, I'm in an 02 Z full bolt on, stock heads.

I have that same 228-230 cam as well in my 98 with Hooker exhaust from front to back with an e-cutout. I'm running it with Crane 1.8 rockers which put it a little over 600 on the lift. I have every bolt on except an e-waterpump. I also have Patriot perimeter bolt 2.05/1.60 heads. With an unlocked 3500 stall I put down 380/375.I dont have the Fast intake but I have the ls6.

What is the difference between that 228/228 and say my 228/230 or even comps 224/230, what makes one cam more capable than the other, What has the the most power and is most streetable, and what kind of rpms would they peak at?

hi I have a comp 228/230 cam In a 2000 holden berlina with a ls1,
had no idea on the lift etc till I found this forum as all.mods were previously done prior to me buying it.
My only question is what kind cam i.e. hydrologic roller, flat tappet etc as I was only told the 228/230 part.
What I can say tho is that all required mods were also done on the top end i.e. new push rods, lifters, valve springs, roller rockers, timing chain can rev out till about 7-7500 and is still hauling **** with ease,
as for the gearbox i have a 3000 high stall in a stage 3 4l60e and it's got 275rwkw/380rwhp
that Tune was done with a stock box but had the high stall and anyone that's mucked around with these cars knows a stock box can't handle a lot of power
I'm pretty sure those power figures are low compared to what I could get out of it now...

7000 - 7500 rpm it could be a Low lash solid roller or a hydraulic roller. Hard to say without more specific details. Probably a hydraulic roller. No LS has flat tappet lifters that I'm aware of as that technology went out of fashion in the mid 1980's due to fuel mileage requirements.
BTW more people will read and reply if you break up the text into paragraphs so its easier to read.
