Default What is this electrical connecter, 99LS1 w/*PIC*

I'm swapping this LS1 motor into my 97 firebird and saw this and thought it was odd... Anybody know what it is? It just kinda loops itself back into the wirign harness.

This is on the passagner side.

PS. I already removed the EGR and A/C wires from the harness in this pic.

Looks like the connector that used to goto the EGR Valve...

Looks like it but it's not. I already removed the EGR wires.

That things on my 98 Z's engine too. It just sits on top of the passenger valve cover and does nothing.

I traced the wires to the PCM.. It's actually just a CAM POS sensor "splice".. Perhaps GM put it there for diagnostic purposes.

I pulled all the wires back into the main harness, cut them to lenght and heat shrink crimped them together..

cool that is a weird thing to be just dangling there, had me all freaked out too. Wonder why there would be 2 cam position sensors...

well there is only 1.. that plug is the halfway point between the sensor and the PCM..

I assume its for diagnostics.
