Default help, y-pipe hanging very low

i lowered my car the other weekend and my y-pipe always hung low and now its about a inch off the ground with the pro-kit installed. my question is, can i get it lifted up or does it have to hang low because of the transmission. this is really bothering me, i dont want to get it caught on something or rip the exhaust out, any help would be appreciated

and one other question, is their an aftermarket y-pipe like, slp or bassani that i can swap the stock one out for that will fit more snug the undercarriage. i will be keeping my cats on the car, i have to still pass emissions, so an off road is out of the question for me, thanks for the help

My stoch y pipe did the same thing, there was like a inch of space between the pipe and the floor board until I got my 3 inch from SLP. You can always try and gently pry it up and see what kind of difference you can make.

My custom y-pipe (replaced the flat bit with real round pipe) hangs low, especially with the Prokit. Here's a pic, showing it about 2 3/4 inches off the ground.

I had the exhaust shop redo it so there is just a touch of gap between the bottom of the floor and the pipe itself. At a couple of spots, we put in a rubberized hanger to allow it to flex, but NOT allow it to hit the bottom of the car.

Just get used to hearing it scrape the speed bumps!

thanks for the replies, i will try to pry it up this weekend if the weather is nice . but one more question, like u said mike i do scrape over speed bumps and steep curbs, when im entering and exiting a parking lot, so my only other questions would be should i be worried about the scraping cause that section of the y-pipe to become worn and cause an exhaust leak from a hole forming, or is this not too likely to happen, thanks for the replies again and any other help u can offer

The SLP Y will hang lower than stock, and I assume we are talking about stock manifolds and cats.

But is can't be that bad. My SS is 1" lower than stock with the SLP Y and I have not hit it - yet

I'm running the SLP Y on my 2002 SS with stock positioned high flow cats. I put Sportline springs on and it lowered the car 2 1/4 " all the way around. I've yet to scrape the Y-pipe but I have never gone over a speed bump yet. There are plenty of ways to avoid them. I always test the water in unchartered territory also real slow like. I'm also running the Wings West ground effects. Hit a parking curb once with the front end barely scratched the bottom. Have to lay down flat on the ground and look up to see it. Don't tell anybody. There's also several RR tracks that I cross but I don't blast across them, haven't scraped yet.(knock on wood)Later.
