farewell video for my GTP
I finally got around to compiling a farewell video for my 2001 Grand Prix GTP...I think it's one of my best videos yet...let me know what you guys/gals think, but don't be TOO mean, lol
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/3...8751254462.htm
Oh, if there is any problem with streetfire's banwidth and I don't respond here, try contacting me over at camsphere, because I've posted this in a bunch of different forums, so it's hard for me to keep up.
And I appologize about the video quality, I don't have the banwidth to host it myself, so when it gets uploaded to streetfire, the quality takes quite a hit.

thank you
I've been trying to get an srt-4 for my next project, because of the price and the fact that it has enough interior space to lug all of my crap to college in the fall, but I may end up with another grand prix if I can't find an srt-4 in my price range...I dunno, I just miss having a manual transmission lol
and no, I won't think I own the planet if I have an srt-4, I know it's still a neon

a buddy of mine who is actually on this forum had the 3rd fastest s/c GTP in the nation. he had a stall, ported blower, pullies, 75shot of nitrous, and full exhaust i think. he might chime in. he was still on stock bottom end. you should try a stall and nitrous if you have another go @ the GTP.
nice car. wish i had that as my first project car.

Bahhhhh...plenty of space in an F-body, not too mention you can always put a small Uhaul tow container behind it if you need to.
With my rear seats folded down I moved everything of consequence that I owned from Virginia to California. And the front seat was empty but for a cooler, cd's, etc.
I'd make 100 trips to haul my stuff over buying a neon(not to mention, you can get out of annoying driving by claiming to only have two useable seats with your buds ).
Nice vid BTW...what happened to the GTP?

ah, the gtp lives on, I just sold it to a friend because the price was right, and I was frustrated with spending so much time and money and still being stuck in the 14's... I just miss it right now because I don't have anything to fill the void...

That's like, one of the best video's I've seen lately. Great job man, much props.
My friend has an '01 GTP as well. His is a black 4 Door though. He's got quite a few mods done to it; (from a post of his @ clubgp) Intense Intercooler, TOG's, 3" exhaust/straight-pipe, DHP, a 3.2" pulley, and MSD coils + PRJ's.
It's gone 8.97@80.29; 13.90 @ 99.4 with a 2.2 60'. He's going turbo soon, so he says. He's trying to keep up with my car ('98 Z28 A4, 3.23's, Intake/Exhaust/etc. - 12.82@109.56, 2.00 60').

Not trying to be mean, but was your friends GTP running at a high elevation track? I would think that he possibly has the slowest time for an intercooled gtp...something just isn't right with his times...though a turbo will help him out quite a bit...after he replaces his transmission with a built one (stock can't handle the power of a turbo usually), I'd say he could give you a very good run in the z28
and yes, fwd does suck, but ya gotta work with what ya got right?

He'll also be getting the built transmission, LSD, slicks and a host of other mods. By that time though, my Z28 will be cam/stall/rear/MT ET Streets/N2O/etc.

Get the SRT-4 for the DD. Plenty of room, great gas mileage and runs 14.0's at the track. Great video. The only thing that always stopped me with the GTP was the auto only transmission. I love row'n the gears.

Lol, I don't get how you guys can drive front wheel drive cars and think it's ok...manual or not, they leave ALOT to be desired. I guess if all you do is no launcing roll racing, and have no desire to drive fast through corners....I'll never own a FWD car, they're beyond worthless, no offense, I guess.

One of the most ill-informed posts I've seen in a while.

old link died, dunno why, so here's the new one.
it's being optimized currently, but should be up in a few minutes.
