Default Oil GUNK under valley cover

Well I'm doing an LS6 valley cover conversion since I'm installing an LS6 intake and its there. I pull the cover off and was suprised as it looks like the botton of a well used Barbeque!!! Looks like burnt oil that is all glossy and flakey. There is quite a bit of it. I spent about an hour cleaning after cutting the tab to get the new valley cover to fit but its still pretty bad. Looking at all the pics on the internet everyone elses seems pretty clean. Any ideas what caused this? I bought the car with 55k and always use moble one. Should I be concern with other areas of the motor (it has 73k now)

Thanks

Bobby

Default

well you could use some good oil additive/cleaner - auto rx i think is the one most ppl recommend (bobistheoilguy.com) good reading over there.

maybe the previous owner did not drive the car till it reached operating tems...or maybe never changed the oil.

if it runs fine, I would just do the cleaner, and not worry.
