Default Is $200 for SLPy-pipe worth it?

Exhaust guy that put my cut out on says that the stock y pipe is badly designed. And looking at, I could kind of see what he is saying. He says switching the y-pipe is pretty easy and worth about 8-10 hp. True? Other options for y-pipe besides SLP? It will be at least a year before I can do headers, TDs etc. Thanks for the input.

Not true. The SLP ypipe is the biggest ripoff ever. The stock ypipe isnt "poorly" designed persay...it may be crushed but it still retains the same flow area as the round section.

A good custom made 3" ypipe is only $300 usually

I had it and its junk. Didnt notice any difference in power or sound. Plus the ground clearance sucks with that pipe. Hangs way low.

Dont do it. Wait till you get headers to get a new Y.

Although the stock Y looks restrictive as hell, its not...
