Street Racing & Kill Stories - Black Cobra (94-97) got bit by Mongoose

So I've come out from running around this morning, was on an access road and notice a black mustang with a hood similar to this:

We both end up by one another and I drop back to scope him out, as he goes by he presses on the gas a little so I can hear the rumble :eyes: but as he does I see the Cobra on the passenger side and see the SVT badge at the top left of the rear of his ride. An opening comes up and he punches it around the car. I see a red light in front, so I move up too and get beside him. The light turns and we both punch it, I got the jump and think I suprised him, but he was definitely trying!!

I quickly put two lengths on him and I move over as there is a car in my lane and continue to put them on him - put about 4 lengths on him. I slow it down cause there's a pretty big bump coming up with RXR in front, he does too and he takes a right after we come up to the next light.

Was it a fox body? 94-97 covers 3 different types of cobras
fox body with 5.0 <= 94
sn95 with 5.0 (did they make an svt in 95, besides the 95 cobra R?)
sn95 with 4.6 dohc 96-98

Not a foxbody - looked something like this:

Only difference I can readily tell is that the lines on the tail lights were horizontal (not verticle) like in one of these shots.

Gotta admit, I'm not a mustang guy, so I'm not sure what they made - here is what I did find:

So SVT or not, if it was a Cobra (rather than some guy who just badged it) then 14.0 is about where he was.

nice kill man, and C6 dave the 94-97 cobra's were all SN95 body styles, the fox body mustangs ended in 1993 and yes they made a 1995 cobra and a 95 Cobra R...the 94 and 95 cobras had 5.0's and the 95' Cobra R had a 5.8L windsor motor, they made cobras from 94-99 in 96-up is when they switched to the 4.6 32V V-8's, no cobra made in 2000 due to power issues with the 99 cobras, except the 2000 cobra R, cobra back in '01, no cobra in 02, then came the factory supercharged cobras in 2003 and 2004...also they made a 1993 Cobra R(very rare)

good kill man!! Always better when u beat a snake!! I got 99 from a 25 mph roll when he got the jump on me and we went to about 85 or so and i put maybe a lengt and a quarter on him!

I wasn't sure about the 94 body ot the 95 cobra (besides the R.. love to have that 351!!!!).... Were you telling me all the other stuff too or just saying? I didn't start paying attention to them until 96 when I got out of the navy and could potentially afford one :-)

98 was sn95 too :-)

I had a 99 cobra and a 2001 cobra. almost bought on 04 and thought about buying the gt500 but wouldnt pay 60K for it... so, corvette it is

nah I was just saying that other stuff, started talking about mustangs and just sorta ran away with the post lol...I used to be a mustang freak, actually still am, GM and Ford lover here... :drive:
