Help me with my setup....
Pretty stock now, looking for more power, but I enjoy the stealth factor. Was thinking slightly bigger cam, but not much, I don't want a real detectable lope. I was also thinking of adding a good set of heads for more flow too. With heads and a cam, I know everyone will tell me I need headers but I hate all the added sound of headers. I have a Corsa now and I like the sound just as it is. I go to the track and see guys running long tubes and I don't know how they can stand it. I want to keep it quiet and stealthy and stock sounding as possible.
Please give your input on cam, heads, & exhaust setups.
Thanks.

C'mon, if this question has been asked before, someone at least throw a link. I tried searching but the answers come back differently as the technology changes. I'm looking for something tried & true!

Without a doubt, you're gonna need a good exhaust for added peformance, which includes LT's. If you don't want it to be loud, go with some Magnaflow mufflers. They're very quiet for that stealth you're looking for. As for a cam, 224 is a mild cam that makes decent power and doesn't have much of a lope.
And besides that, you really should look into getting like an Ls6 intake/tb.

I dont know. I get compliments on my car all the time and I have the original SLP d/d still. The idle is detectable. It isnt an old school thump but its not close to stock either. I've had people hear my car at idle for 1 minute and know somethings up with it. A tr224 is pro'lly the best street cam but a sleeper it is not. Even with factory manifolds your gonna hear it. Dont be frightened by other people who have LT's and are loud. They're loud because they want to be. A catted Y and a semi quiet catback is all you need. I'm putting down 440-450hp and 420tq with a mild 224 cam and TSP heads

Get a mild cam...like sais before a 224 is good. You will need some LT to take advantge of that power. Get a y-pipe and install cats in it. It wont be that loud, but it will sound really good. Or just leave it all alone and install a single front mount turbo setup...that can be pretty stealth. I can help out with it all if needed.

Lope is not necessarily a product of "large cam". Amount of lope has to do with VT, with the amount of overlap in valve events, if I'm not mistaken.
You could have a cam with fast ramps and high lift and still have a seemingly stock idle. For example the CheatR cam. It's on LSK lobes IIRC, it has over 0.600" lift but has a shortish duration. The result is a cam that makes a lot of power and has great drivability and stocklike idle.
But with that cam IMO you need some strong springs to safely control the valves.

I could take a clip of it and post it somehow.

Another important item to add is that I still have the stock 3.42 rear end and don't want to change that if I don't have to. That adds to my desire to have a heads/cam setup that doesn't sacrifice low end. Just the opposite, if I could GAIN some low end, I'd be pleased.
