Default WOW!! Are Gaskets Expensive

Just got new intake gaskets for my LS6 manifold and they were a LOT more than I thought they would be. List on them is $76.30 for a set of 8 and I got them for $45 through the dealer I use all the time. Good deal off list, but I had no idea they were that much to begin with. Oh, well, got new gaskets at least.

sounds pricy now... but you'll never have to buy them again... they're O-ring seals... you can reuse them over, and over, over, and over, over, and over, over, and over, over, and over, over, and over, over, and over, over, and over, over, and over, over, and over....

Yeah, I probably didn't need them to begin with, but when I painted my intake I didn't remove them before painting and got some overspray on them. Didn't know how they would react to cleaning with lacquer thinner, so just got new ones. Like you say, they will last forever.

They flatten out after a few uses and don't seal as well as new ones.

BTW - You can get the comp gaskets (same as OEM but orange) from BYUNSpeed for like $30 shipped.
