Free Slap Shift Mod!
Tonight I decided to clean the spilled coffee out of my console before it stuck all the little plastic plates that go around the shifter together. Once I got the top part of the console off and got it all cleaned up, I had an idea.
Since no one makes a true bolt-in and go ratchet-style shifter for our cars, why couldnt we use the stock one?
The attached picture shows you how simple it is to do.
A" is where the shifter gait sits in 1st gear,
B" is where the cut is made for 2nd gear, and
C" is for the 3rd gear stop.
It gives you the ability to put your shifter in first, then just push it forward and it stops in 2nd gear. Depress the button slightly and push again and it stops in 3rd (or D) Before this mod, one good push from 1st gear would land you all the way in OD or nuetral. The cuts were made with a dremel cutoff wheel, still need to clean them up some but you get the idea. Ron

no, thats the only pic I took. The angle your looking at is from the drivers side with the shifter in park. You will recognize it as soon as you remove your top console, all cuts can be made sitting in the drivers seat. Pretty easy, took about 10 minutes. Ron

Works great, I was wanting something so that I could start out in first gear and then just shift to 2nd without watching or very slowly moving the shifter, or having to worry about overshooting the gear...i dont necessarily wind it out and shift it myself. Ron
