Default Speaking of Door Damage

Backed into a parkingspot that was on a hill, opend the door, wind took it before I could grab it, that ontop of the gravity of being on the hill hyperextended the door...

I couldn't care less about my life, its my car I'm worried about...

lol. I'm going to a CRC tomorrow when I wake up, then I'm taking it down to my buddies shop that we painted the car at. I am thinking about just patching it myself, witch I can do n/p, but the problem is, my dads ss did the same thing. The car was 2 months old back in 1999, and he opened the door, wind caught it, and ripped it up against a fence. It just grazed the fence so it scraped the side of it, and cracked it in the same spot. He had it fixed, and it cracked again SLIGHTLY in a few months, hair line. The body man said it would have to be replaced to have it ever look 100%

Like you mentioned in your post, just replace the door...You should be able to find one on Ebay.

That's really unfortunate. That must have been some really strong wind gusts?

Honestly man, new skin would be the best idea. Like you said, it'll crack again later with something that large.

Thanks for the compliments guys, and yes that above statment about my life was a joke. The crack is right infront of the mirror, you can actually see the mirror in that picture ( shadow at least ) I am going to jump in the shower now, and then go and take the car to a few places, and see what they say. I also may run to a few junkyards and see if they have any f-bodies, which they NEVER do.. I found a few on ebay for what I would pay, but they are all local pick up only, one even came with two int panals with cloth inserts, something that I would also love to have... Grrr. Im watching a door in MI ( all day drive.. ) on ebay right now.

Thanks for the support, updates later.

Body shop one

590 for fixing my door
510 for hanging, spraying, and blending a door I bring in

They are currently looking for a used door.

Body shop two

1100 bucks for a new door skin and all labor

Looks like my cars just gonna have a cracked door.

I got pretty much same estimates, yeah its not cheap.... I guess the best bet would be taking time, finding the same color door and putting it in yourself, and for now maybe just seal the crack with something?

The guy that helped me paint my car said he'd do it for 250 bucks

That guy is the absolute, greatest guy I know. He painted my whole car ( top notch **** ) for 700 with me helping, did my ceta conversion for some R/c car parts, and me helping, and now this? As I walked out of his garage he said " now dont ******* go telling everyone the price, I don't want people coming in off the street expecting that deal " lol
