Austin peeps (odd question)
Just out of my own curiosity....does anyone know if the old Robert Mueller (airport) control tower is still standing? I know they demolished most of the infastructure around it in 2003, but last I knew (and can find on the internet) the control tower is still standing.
Here is a 2003 picture:
A picture from 2000 (before the demolition):
Thanks for any help on my *weird* question

i believe the control tower is in fact still standing... my dad also seems to believe that it has not come down yet.
But then again, it's almost the same as saying IDK...

Thanks for the replies.....Neil, its actually for a friend. He is a photographer that is looking for something of specific design (the Mueller control tower). We stumbled upon the tower-topic when I was telling him that the airport closed in 1999.
I believe that the city of Austin decided to keep the tower standing and use it as a historical landmark. That is all I have been able to find in a little research. Suprisingly, there is not that much out there (post 2003) on it.
Probably the reason most people have not seen it is because its really not that tall (100')......and even from a minor distance you would not even be able to see it with trees.
If anyone can get a visual confirmation in the future, please let me know
Thanks guys!
