You have already named two great brands in Nitto and Bf Goodrich, you may also take a look at some Michelin pilot sports or even Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. You can also go here: www.Tirerack.com and get the online survey and reviews for each tire and compare them and see if you can find the right tire to fit your needs.

I use my car as a DD and I have to drive in rain and snow. I bought some Michelin Pilot Sport A/S and they seem to do well in all road conditions. They are rated up to 168mph. I have driven over 3inches of snow (with sand bags in the trunk also) and have had no problem keeping traction. In the rain the seem to do very well, I really like them. I have only had them a year, so can't tell you too much about wear and tear, but the tread still looks new. I paid about 180.00 per tire.

i use to drive on my nitto555s(non DR) wheels all year round. i got them pretty cheap at Discount tire. but the best 60foot i could cut was a 1.9. i only had one problem hitting some hard rain and got sideways on the road bu im sure it could have happened to any car/tire

I would suggest these for the car They hook great and perform extremely well. Before i switched to having DR's on all the time, I would have these put on all 4's Now there only on my fronts. I really enjoy these. Quiet ride too!

A lot of good tires mentioned. If you're not going to be driving in snow I'd get the GS-D3's. Best wet traction of any tire out and one of the best radial tires out. The BFG KD may track a bit better but the GS-D3's wet traction is far better and it's dry traction is very similar. Best tire Goodyear has ever made. If you need to drive in snow I don't know what to tell you.

im in so cal so its mostly dry weather and it rarely rains...is there much of a price/performance difference between dry and wet/dry tires?
do dry tires have any handling in the rain or are they totally useless?

Strictly dry tires won't perform that well in the rain. A buddy of mine hads KD's on his and he gets sideways easily in the rain.

I've got GS-D3's on my new wheels... Haven't driven 'em yet, but I willl this weekend!

The way I see it, If eagle F1's are good enough for the new Zo6 Vette, they're good enough for my camaro.

If you're in Southern Cal I think you're either the KD or D3's would do fine.

If you are going with a normal radial...Id say BFG G-Force sports, KD's, or KDW2's.. BFG makes great tires for the price...

If you want a drag radial for a daily driver, you will need nittos because they will last alot longer than BFG or MT drags
