Default Been about 3 weeks since new roof put on

Like the thread title says its been a little over 3weeks and a day or so since my roof was replaced and painted on my car. Thinking of putting a couple coats of blackfire on it in the next couple days.

Is 3 weeks a solid amount of time to let everything cure / dry out for a GM dealership paint job.

3 months is slighly overkill I believe.

Best bet is to call the shop that painted it and ask them.

I've heard everything from 1 month-3 months before using wax. I'd wait at least 4-5 weeks to be safe.

depending on type of paint used and what the temp is where the car sits really determines the length in which the paint releases solvents that keep you from waxing. 3 months is really excessive but if its winter time and 20 degrees outside it will take much longer than if it was 100 degrees outside and baking under the sun. The hotter it is the faster the solvents release. Usually 30 to 45 days is sufficient but alot of shops will tell you 90 days just to be on the safe side.

Go ahead and put a glaze on there like Meguiar's #7 or Deep Crystal Polish. Don't put wax on it for almost 2 months.

I have polished the pieces with Menzerna. Its 100 degrees here meaning 130-140 degrees on the paint surface. I will give it another week. I want to get something on those pieces before some bird ***** on them and stains them

My brother paints cars and custom bikes for a living and he's always said atleast 90 days before wax. But polish and wash all you want. Because obviously wax will clog the pores of the paint and it won't be able to "Breath" If it cant breath, very bad things could happen.
