How much oil does your ls1 burn?
Interested in what the rest of the ls1 folks oil usage is.
This past interval I have had to add at least 2 quarts. I never remembered how much I've had to add during this time around. I also switched to Amsoil 5W-30 from Mobil 1 5W-30.
Is it normal for it to burn this much? Before cam install it was maybe half a quart to one quart.

luckily never ever a drop! no ticks no slap, i consider myself having very very good luck finding my car... typically its 1 qt or so between oil changes... changing the PCV valve is prob a good idea too depending on miles

I do 6 month interval changes and it usually adds up to 3-5K miles on the oil. No change on the dipstick in that time period. No piston slap either that's audible. I guess she was a wednesday built LS1. LS6 block also if that matters.

True,
There is no need for backup – I was just making a comment.
My diesel holds 10 quarts of the best oil (based on analysis and a ton of testing) and I still try to change it every five to six thousand miles depending on how I have been driving.
My Camaro on the other hand might see 100 miles in 3 months so I usually change the oil every four to five months just to keep it fresh. Still looks like Honey when I drain it out.

I'm on the end of my interval. Around 500 more miles and it will be changed. I change it every 3500-4000 miles.

i used to use mobil one, lots of oil consumption +noise- to where the low oil light would come on before 2k miles on that oil.. switched to royal purple 10-40 havn't had one complaint about this oil sofar except maybe alil pricey. i got about 2.5 k miles on the rp and oil pressure still high at 40 at 500rpm's -1,000 then upto 60 or more with throttle. my m1 would of went way down on oil pressure by now, starting with 30 soon as i put it in and going down to 20 after about 2k miles. was also the same with the 10-30 and 5-30 m1 both noisey and consumed oil.
