4l60e no od or d but have low 1 2 i have a 4l60e out of a 94 camaro in my chevelle. i was spraying nitrous on it last night and my rear end broke. but at the same time i lost d and od...but have reverse,low 1 and 2 but if put in drive or od it just revs like in neutral. i just rebuilt this tranny two months ago. any ideas on what might be the culpret? i read on another post that a guy had same prob and they were saying it was the sprag. im open to sugestions.

you stripped the 3-4 drum out, Ther drum is splined and there is another piece that fits into it. VERY common on the 4l60's Get it out of the car and to a trans shop.
At the dealer I worrked at I have seen this in bone stock trucks and suv's.
Nothing uncommon at all.

well i just ran into the same problem except im not spraying.. mine is the 3-4 clutches seeing as how can still sort of move in 3-4th i know its the clutches and it seems as though you still have 1-2 so i dought u striped the drum seeing as how it has to go through the drum to make anythign work haha so theres some good news 
but its still not a good idea to get it rebuilt stock. Im loking at a shop in ohio that will make it good enough for close to 900hp so then ill break my engine first this time lol but ya let me know if your looking for quality parts.

Im willing to put money on there is a stripped Sun shell and the piece that goes into it. Common 4l60E problem. Like I said i only seen about a hundred replaced at the dealer. All same problem no Reverse 3rd or 4th.

i am interested in better parts this time around. but about something stripped out i do still have low 1st and 2nd and i do have reverse. its just with the gear selector in d or od i have nothing. my rearend broke at the same time so i dont know if its all there 100% cant drive it just yet to find out.

my mistake then i thought you said no reverse. You probably just broke a sprag. I did that to a 700r4 i just had to manually shift through the gears. If i shifted it it ould go into 3rd and 4th.
